We fly across continents because we realize that our customers deserve the best, high-quality wood products. We monitor your order along every step of the way and inspect each board prior to shipment.

  1. We just installed our Tigerwood deck – it looks beautiful. We were very pleased with your company’s service & product. After we applied the Ipe Oil we neglected to wipe up any excess from the roller, it didn’t look like it was pooling, but after 24 hrs. we notice some sheen & tackiness in places. Should I try to rub off the excess with a soft cloth & mineral oil, or just leave it alone & it will wear off? Also, we live in Maine where it will be covered with snow for about 3 mos. Thanks for your help.

    I’m glad to hear that everything has gone good and that you are happy with the product. It’s comments like yours that make coming in everyday that much easier.

    In terms of the access oil, you can try to pressure wash the surface or use the deck cleaner that we carry. If this doesn’t work I would wait it out until the spring and see what happens. Reason being is the next step would be to sand the surface and start over but like you said its going to be snowing on us in 3 months (I’m in Buffalo NY).

I was sold on your trim product line by the local lumber rep in my area, Santa Cruz, CA, being told your products offered a life time guarantee and sold my customer on the additional cost because of this. Now a little over 5 years the handrail caps I installed on their exterior decks have literally fallen apart and allowed water to accumulate and rot the underlying plywood and framing. Please note I back primed all exposed ends and chalked all areas between the cap and siding. The cost to date to replace both the caps and damaged lumber is well over $1000.00. In my 35 years as a contractor in the industry I have yet to see a product literally fall apart as yours has and would not recommend it to anyone. Also the same lumber rep mentioned they’ve had numerous complaints similar to my own.
    I would like to know how I go about being reimbursed for the damage and replacement costs.

  4. I’m sorry to hear about your troubles. However, what you’re describing doesn’t sound like our product. We are aware of a few companies with names similar (nearly identical) to ours that sell imitation ipe. This fake wood does have a reputation for falling apart as you’ve described.
