AdvantageLumber.com is opening a 50,000-square foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Los Angeles (Santa Fe Springs), California. This facility will be operational within a few weeks and will service California and West Coast contractors, designers, and homeowners with affordable and sustainable hardwood decking materials. The new location will be operated as Wood Decking, Inc. as Advantage turns its focus more toward its hardwood decking operations. Unlike other companies that simply drop ship and promote building products online, AdvantageLumber.com owns and operates its own production and distribution facilities.
The Wood Decking, Inc. manufacturing and warehousing facility is installing brand new CNC molders and milling equipment. This state-of-the-art equipment mills hardwoods into pregrooved, tongue and groove, and siding. According to General Manager, Rick Nevarez, “We are excited to give lower pricing on Ipe decking and other hardwoods to our west coast customers. With multiple containers of wood arriving every week, we will be able to offer a full year round supply of sustainable deck materials. And with decking stores closing from to San Jose and San Francisco to Los Angeles and San Diego, we see a great opportunity to bring high-end, sustainable decking materials to the market at affordable pricing.”
Nevarez continues, “At the Wood Decking, Inc. warehouse, we will carry a steady inventory of sustainably harvested Ipe, Cumaru, and Tigerwood. These materials are proven to handle extreme temperatures and are ideal for the California environment. In addition to the savings on shipping, customers will also benefit from great prices. Typically such high-end luxury hardwoods could sell at lumber yards from $6.00 – $8.00 a lineal foot. Because we directly manufacturer our wood products and do not employ traders or lumber brokers, our pricing power is greater than that of local lumber yards. We pass those savings along to our customers. Having our own mills certainly makes my job easier from a competitive standpoint, product procurement, and quality control standpoint.” The company stated that it intends to open several additional production and warehouse facilities to continue to offer factory direct decking to its growing domestic and international customer base.
AdvantageLumber.com is also confirming the purchase of another 70,000-square foot distribution and milling facility in the United States. The company said it will disclose its newest location later this month when the deal is finalized. At a time when much of the lumber industry is contracting, these developments have quickly elevated AdvantageLumber.com to be one of the fastest growing hardwood decking and lumber companies in North America.
